  • Last note was probably affected a little bit by the wines we had before the Adonis came to the table. This time it was just as airy and floral as I expected it to be.

Initially some fizz and funky reduction but that is easily solved with a turn in the decanter.

The nose is really pretty and shows mixed red berries, lots of floral hibiscus and some meaty and animalistic notes. Mid-weight with vibrant acidity and silky tannins paired with lots of crunchy red fruits makes up for a truly juicy wine. Some floral notes of hibiscus and red tea as well as those savory meaty notes keeps the wine interesting. Salivating finish. A truly great Pineau d’Aunis!

  • A bit reductive initially but that blows of quickly. The nose shows a mix of barely ripe black berries and some bright red fruit. With time in the glass it adds on notes of animal fur, violets, raw meat and red tea. Somewhere around medium bodied with mouthwatering acidity, medium tannins and lots of juicy black and red fruits. Again that floral/tea component comes through.

I've tasted a few Pineau d'Anuis and this wine is probably the most dense one. As always a good food player with it's brisk acidity. Perfect to drink on the youthful fruit.
