High toned, has a little aldehyde, masquerading as gunflint aromas, lightly salted and a flavor/aroma I can get behind in a nuanced approach. And so in the pocket. Palate suggests partial malo. Great Chard. Maybe closer to Vasse Felix Heytesbury than the French might prefer.

Winebar [4 Whites, 8 Reds, & 5 *shared* Reds] from 12/14/18 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): From 50 yr old vines grown in clay and predominantly limestone soils; Typically, "the hand harvested grapes are lightly pressed in a pneumatic press @ a low pressure to get a slow extraction. After a gentle racking of the must, the wine is put in 500 L FR oak casks (10% new) for both alcoholic & malolactic fermentations with wild yeasts, then aged for 11 mos. A month before the bottling, the wine from the different barrels is put in a s/s tank to make the blend."
N: Butter slightly atop sandalwood with lemons underneath
P: LM, poss Med, body; RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish oak/frt met by ALMOST puckerish acidity which pushes the action into & through the LONG, tangy/swt finish. Deserves another 6 mos or so, then drinking through '21. My VG+/EXC-. [This vendor's $29.95 is $1 < the least of wine-searcher's 3 current entries.]
