first evening. A potpourri of smells and tastes. plums, cherries, tobacco, spice on the nose and palate. The flavors were all over the place though and little integrated. Night two was a bit better, with very dark fruit and tobacco dominant but it is clearly an old world fruit driven wine. Doesn't make sense I know, but thats how it comes across.

Rich spicy nose. I could taste it already. Supple medium body with nice balance and a medium finish. I could drink a whole bottle, oh wait, I did. The only flaw is the typical hint of overripe fruit I find in less-expenve Spanish wines like the Mesta. Excellent QPR and I'd load up on this for drinking over the next three years.

What a great wine. 70% Monastrell, 30% Cabernet, $10 retail. The fruit off of the nose is rich, with deep dark berry aromas. The body is surprisingly full and velvety, with full tannins and a bit of cola/sarsparilla flavor. A very well put together wine for an amazing price.

The fruit borders on being too stewed but it manages to all come together. The complexity and quality are amazing for the price.
