Comte Liger-Belair Echezeaux GC 2017. Helt fine tanniner. Bør lagres. 95p

La Paulée 2020 Grand Tasting of 2017 Burgundy (Pier 60, New York): Again, that sweet, almost candied red fruit with wonderful, alluring texture, but here there is much less wood showing, and the acidity and terrific tannic structure better hold things in check. In the end, more restrained and discrete than the prior wine, but some amount of hedonism is still present.

2018 Visit to Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair with Louis-Michel (Vosne-Romanée): Black fruit again here but more red fruit too, cherry and a little plum with spices. A sweet entry, followed by a huge volume of ripe, juicy berry fruit. Very rich and succulent. Powerful and driven yet precise and pure. Again that lovely, satiny mouthfeel. In some ways, more accessible from the barrel than 2006 Liger-Belair Echezeaux we had last evening. Superb!

Quite closed for a 2017, usually showing so playful. Not here. Very concentrated, rich, clean, in great harmony. Needs some years. 94++

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): Walk around tasting. Ripe black and red cherry with baking spice and greater density than Reignot, with the same textural brilliance, concluding with a long, persistent finish. Excellent with 94-95 point potential.
