  • Not what I might consider to be an academic wine, but extremely stylish and rather hedonistic. Very pretty oak that has not yet fully integrated. I think I rather prefer the CLB "make-up" on the Vosne wines. This NSG was a bit too angular and structured to be as pretty as Vosne neighbors. Still extremely delicious and would happily drink again!

  • An accessible and captivating bottle that held its own vs 2017 drc rsv and a mag of 2007 Drouhin Echezeaux. Great aromatics with a nice finish with good + complexity. fruit is present but not over powering. really giving. I thought 17's had shut down a bit but definitely not these two wines.

  • Gorgeous glass of Pinot. Like a lot of 17s which are proving to be elegant and accessible wines, this was no exception, ready to go after only 20 minutes open. Defintiely not your father’s style of Nuits

  • Second bottle in the space of two months at same place - confirmed prior experience (see TN from April).

  • During an evening of various CLB Nuits 1er - this was very good together with its 14 sibling showing quite Vosnesque with precocious red fruit, hallmark cherry notes and a good lushness. Difficult to impossible to pick a favourit between this and the 14 for me tomight. Interestingly a 17 I had the week before showed more masculine and dark fruited, it came from a different glass though so possibly the stemware also making a difference. Overall the Cras had a different level of intensity if there was a theme between these 2 Nuits 1er Cru sites.
