Wet gravel and wet soil and so damn minerally and musty. A hint of asphalt… but not a Sangiovese asphalt, more of the “first rain of the summer on hot asphalt and steam rising off the pavement” kind of wine. Smoke and toasted oak in hour one, some baking spices as well? Fruit starting to peek out and perk up in hour two. Red fruit obviously. Underripe cherry? Eventually — my favorite note, drumroll please — cherry cola / Dr Pepper. Warming and refreshing — only burgundy can pull it off. (Saint Germain)

Red fruit paired with earthy, wet stone. Good complexity and length.
