This bottle had evolved a lot since last summer. Now more opened and elements more integrated. Much more substance and finesse than last time I tasted. Acidity still high, and looking promising with another year or two in the cellar.

Mild citrus, lemon zest, pineapple, sugar cane, syrup. Light to medium toasted barrel. The acidity was so high that hurts the gum. 2017 was a great vintage for white Burgundies. The wine could benefit from laying down a few more years to soften the acid and allow more characters to develop.

Really positive bouquet of green plums and chalk with flavours repeated on the palate. Zingy and fresh this develops butter, cream and vanilla with a hint of toast. Stylish and balanced, nothing is overdone; it has an impressive finale and is currently at its peak. Overdelivers on a relatively modest appellation. CHP 91 pts

On the palate greengage fruit wrapped around a core of acidity. Subtle notes evolve of oatmeal, a hint of vanilla and butter. Medium-bodied, it’s fresh, layered and vibrant. Although savoury there is a hint of sweetness on the finish which is persistent and mouth-filling. Has all the character of a fine Cote d’Or white without the eye-watering price tag. 91 pts

Chalky green plums, vanilla and butterscotch with a touch of toffee. Refreshing with a good follow through and nice finish. In the modern style, it ticks all the boxes and very correct. Very pleasing but tended to disappear when matched with a plate of hot smoked salmon. 87pts
