James & Carrie's btl on Ciao Bella Bloomington's lovely patio. There were some distracting factors w/ the controversy over whether Brad's companion 12 Jean-Marc Pillot Montagny “Les Gouresses” was corked or not that lead me to not give this wine all the attention it deserved. My impression is that it was totally in my wheelhouse & quite good. Perhaps deserving of a higher score. It happens :).

Two hour slow ox. Pale straw color. White pear, white bread, and subtle honey and lemon. Smooth, dry palate. Nose is a bit dull and the palate is a bit flat.

Straw to light yellow color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Light nose of gooseberries, grass, lemon and apricot. Flavors of lemon, apricot and a splash of cherry. Medium to bright acidity, full bodied. Drink over the short term. Perhaps into the medium term.

This is very good. Nose of apple, lemon, stone fruits and a hint of oak. High acidity and medium body with a great balance between fruit and minerality. On the palate more stone fruits and lemon and some butteriness from the oak. Feels like it could do with a couple of years just to smooth out the edges, but really nice and fresh today. First bottle of a 6-pack so looking forward to seeing how it ages.
