  • Perfect pairing with paella. Lemon cream, apricot, with an oxidative nuttiness. Waxy texture. Improved with air. Excellent.

  • Fort jolie vin, tension, presence en bouche. tondonia reste sur son plateau tellement longtemps, c’est surprenant. Un tres jolie vin, pas pour tout le monde, mais pour ceux qui tolère le leger oxydatif, c’est excellent

  • Interesting nose with smokey notes and a little bit of funk, lemon, and orange notes. Good acidity with more lemon juice and zest on the palate. The flavors are precise and the finish is nice. It's quite complex but probably suffered a bit from being poured next to the 1991 Gran Reserva. I liked this quite a bit more than last time and it improved considerably with air. Should be amazing with more age. 93++

  • Spanish Trip; 2/21/2024-2/23/2024 (Spain): Drunk at 'Deliranto' in Salou.

I was lucky to drink this wine as it is harder and harder to find. It was served just a bit chilled (14c) and in Josephin N3 glasses.

The wine was drunk throughout the dinner and was complementing well the menu.

The color was a beautiful deep and luminous yellow while being a bit syrupy, as if you were pouring liquid gold.

Upon opening, the nose was a lot oxydative with a strong walnut smell and the palate was rather closed showing only some tropical fruits and a bit of minerality.

After some time (~1,5 hours), the wine really started to open up and was a totally different experience, with notes of lemon, butter, (maybe cocoa butter), nuts, wax, salt, and even gaminess. The wine was really gaining in width and length.

The mouthfeel of the wine is one of the best I've ever drunk, reminding me of really old Meursaults I've tasted.

The wine was not a straight punch in the face, with each sip it slowly and effortlessly took its place and remained on your palate with a really impressive length.

Overall a tremendous mature white wine. If you find one, drink one!

  • Beautiful, austere and aged nose, yellow plums, strawberries and hints iron. It is evident that we are into something very special. The palate is on the light side but convincing and complex, on this level you do not have to try to impress, everything comes effortlessly. This is bone dry and sauvory, fresh cool climate feel, tempting yellow fruit and resin, hints of nuts and mushrooms, in line with the bouquet forest strawberries and metal, great mineral core. Not waxy any more, that is clearly a thing of the past. If the acidity level can be prefect, this is it. Mouthwatering finish. This bottle, which was stored sheltered from light at 14.5 celsius degrees, is on the top of its game, hugely enjoyable at present.
