  • A nice wine. Two years down the road from the first bottle, this still feels rather too young though. The nose had a bit of reductive matchstick and a little hint of sulphur about it when first poured, but these blew off somewhat with time to show notes of white fruit, cream and flinty mineral - very classic Meursault bouquet. The palate was impressive. Bright, fresh and very well-cut, it also showed very nice depth and weight for a village wine, with fresh flavours of red and green apples laced with some lime zest. These were traced with a lovely spine of fresh citrus acidity and stony mineral that pulled away into a long, sinewy finish. A really nice village Meursault, with the cut and thrust of a classic vintage - a refreshing change from some of the riper tones of more recent years. This has the bones to age though. I expect it will be better in 4-5 years, and will continue to age effortlessly for far longer. (Drank at home with R&L)

  • Color: medium canary yellow
Nose: at the start lots of matchstick. As that wafts away in 15 minutes or so, the profile is dominated by toast d almond and wet stone. There is a stone fruit element, with peach, somewhat in the background of that. With time bruised parsley and fennel seed, along with a note of amaretto. Even more time and peach grows stronger, with some octanes. The nose evolves really interestingly
Palate: medium acidity, medium-full body. Aromatically there is some orange blossom to augment the nose. It has good balance and enough intensity to go well with anything up to a sauced chicken
    Finish: medium

Very nice meursault that is mostly nut and mineral driven. Goes with a meal and i think it has balance now, though I'm also sure that some tertiaries would enhance this. Recommend 1h of air in large decanter and cool room temp

  • I thought this was excellent. I know I have opened it young but it is already in an excellent place. Round and deep with classic stone fruits. Creamy but balanced with good acidity and huge length. Fantastic

  • Still too young, needs a few years to devellop. Complex and round taste though!

  • Burgundy Villages 2011 and younger dinner (Traditional Teochew Steamboat, Joo Chiat Road, Singapore): A lovely young Meursault. The nose was a mix of sweet tropical notes - think pineapple and really ripe apples - along with a lilt of florals and a shade of chalky mineral. Very pretty. The palate had a lovely balance and focus to it all, with nicely integrated acidity tracing its way through clear, pure flavours of white fruit lines with a sweeter tropical undertone, this chased by a brighter lemony citrus tone. The finish had a little mineral kiss, all wrapped in a certain Meursault creaminess. Still primary and rather tight, but this was a pleasure to drink nonetheless, with a nice tension and definition throughout. I liked this, but it could do with a few years in the bottle yet.
