  • A blend of Malvasia Fina and Gouveio.

Yellow-green color. Surprisingly robust and powerful nose with aromas of ripe peach, toasty spice, some nuttiness, a little bit of green banana and a hint of rubbery reduction. The wine is rich, ripe and somewhat sweet-toned on the palate with flavors of very ripe peaches and apricots, some tropical fruits, a little bit of nutty complexity and a hint of banana. The wine is only medium in acidity, which makes it feel rather soft and ponderous. The finish is rich and quite round with sweet-toned flavors of peach, apricot jam, some toasty oak spice, a hint of ripe banana and a touch of creaminess.

A simple and pleasant Douro white. Nothing particularly memorable as perhaps wanting a bit in balance, since the acidity feels rather modest in relation to the ripe, sweet-toned fruit. The wine has seen some wood, but fortunately the oak use feels rather judicious in relation to the fruit. Overall quite nice, but nothing special to write home about.
