Sonoita wine trip; 2/19/2019-2/20/2019 (Sonoita, AZ): This is a multi-vintage, dessert wine that’s aged outdoor in old barrels, so it gets this Madeira-style oxidation going on, and it really works. Nose of dates, figs and plum cake along with dried honey and salted almonds. The palate is warm and rich, inviting and sweet, but not heavy. Figs, dates, plums, caramel and spiced tea. Delicious way to end an epic tasting.
