  • A blend of Touriga Nacional and Cabernet Sauvignon. 14% alcohol, 6 g/l residual sugar and 5,0 g/l acidity. Tasted blind in VV.

Dense, fully opaque purple color that stains the glass. I'm wondering if this wine has an extra dose of Mega-Purple? The nose feels very lush and primary with aromas of blackcurrant jam, some inky tones, a little bit of sweet grapey fruit and a hint of vanilla. The wine is full-bodied, soft and sweetish with very primary flavors of boysenberry jam, some inky tones, a little bit of cherry marmalade, light grapey tones and a hint of vanilla. The structure is lacking, thanks to the medium acidity and ripe medium-minus tannins. The finish is juicy, soft and quite sweet with rich flavors of blackberry jam, some crème de cassis, a little bit of cherry marmalade and a hint of vanilla.

A sweet, soft and easy crowdpleaser. A textbook example of a commercial bulk wine from which all characteristics are polished away and everything is doused in jammy Mega-Purple character that makes the wine so teeth-stainingly purple and sweet. Lacking in depth, structure and character. Overpriced for the quality at 12,98€.
