Comprehensive Tenuta delle Terre Nere (Chicago, IL): Others may have liked this vintage more than I did; I liked the red fruit and higher acid style, but found this a hair dilute on the palate, as if this were done in watercolour and then washed. Grainy young tannin again in a very nebbiolo-like way.

Savoury and minerally this had characters of raw meat and gravy, seasoned with spice, tar and a balsam. The tannins were fierce and the heat really kicked in before leaving a residual aftertaste of prunes. For a serious wine I found this a little too unforgiving and unbalanced by the weight of alcohol, ultimately not living up to the hype. CHP 86 pts

I agree with hhcaves notes, smokey-mineral-floral nose with maraschino cherry, on the palate a combination of concentration and elegance, tannins still quite prominent, needs some time to unfurl. good acidity and length in the finish.

nice floral flinty nose, red sour cherries good body lovely cool climate fruit and great acidity, tannins at first a bit grippy but after 30min+ becoming better and better over the evening. The Crus are a big step up from the etna rosso.

Pale ruby. Floral, violets, lifted, maraschino cherry, confected, red/black plum, minerality, some blue fruit - almost Loire cab franc-like with medium body? Some hot/stewed red fruit. Medium(+) tannins after air, plush mouthfeel, medium(+) acidity. Medium(+) finish. Will improve with age. Amazing QPR
