13.6% alcohol. This remains improbably stunning. Aromatic. Beautiful. Bricking at the rim now, but full of black cherry fruit and bright acidity. Brilliant. A-/A

13.6% alcohol. Well, I was wrong in my last note in 2010 on this wine. It didn't only have a couple years left. There is a ton of life left here! Pristine bottle. Bright red color, light bricking at the very edge of the glass. Glorious nose of red cherry, baking spice, and floral notes. In the mouth, beautifully vibrant and juicy. Plenty of acidity left and a complex, lingering finish. Yup, this is still awesome. A

Absolutely at peak; lively strawberry/raspberry compote with spritely acidity and lovely texture. The last and best of a 6 pack. There was considerable bottle variation in these.

This is interesting. I would not think there would be this much bottle variation from this producer. Last bottle verged on undrinkable and yet this bottle was lovely, with refined cherry/rhubarb and earthy notes that I would generally expect from this winery. Anyway, this one was just lovely with a pasta dish that featured oyster mushrooms, shrimp, angle hair pasta and a reduction sauce of homegrown golden heirloom tomatoes.

Teetering on the edge of undrinkable. Pefectly stored, yet seems oxidized, pruney and unpleasantly acidic. I have 2 more bottles of this, will open soon. Hope this one is just flawed in some way.
