  • 100% organic Xarel-lo, fermented and aged in concrete eggs and terracotta amphorae.

Luminous, pale yellow color with faint lime-green highlights. Very expressive and focused nose with fresh aromas of ripe red apples, bright citrus fruit tones, some herbal greenness, light reductive gunpowder tones, a hint of grassy character and a touch of piercing saline minerality. The wine is crisp, light-bodied and lively with fresh flavors of tart green apples, sweeter golden apples, some tangy citrus fruit tones, light hay notes, a little bit of herbal greenness and a subtly lifted hint of VA. The wine is very acid-driven for a still white Xarel-lo with great sense of structure. The finish is long, crisp and slightly green-toned with bright flavors of red apples, hay, some herbal bitterness, a little bit of grassy character and a hint of tart lemony fruit.

A very nice, balanced and serious Xarel-lo that manages to avoid the typical pitfalls of still Xarel-lo: inadequate acidity and rather one-dimensional, mildly herbal flavor. This is very racy and nicely acid-driven in style, yet the fruit feels ripe and not too green. There's great sense of focus, freshness and purity here. The wine is drinking wonderfully right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if this wine continued to drink really well for many more years. Priced according to its quality at 21,20€.
