Citrus, minerals, and stone fruit on the nose. Lovely acidity and quite tannic and structured on the palate with oranges and lime leaf notes. Nice finish. Lovely wine in a great spot, but this could certainly last for another decade or more.

A pale sight, this Ribolla Gialla 2002 from Gravner is okay per se, a blend of expected traits - but it totally loses out, fades away in comparison to outstanding Radikon’s Ribolla, feels empty, devoid of universe’s sacred meaning, and with no dominant aromas in the bouquet.
What a sad surprise, huh. Maybe this is a suboptimal bottle, who knows, eh.

This Ribolla had longer skin contact than any other vintage ever made at Gravner. It wasn't taken off the skins until around 26th April 2003 (so almost 7 months in qvevri)
Paradoxically, it's incredibly fresh and vibrant, with hits of papaya, caramel, red berries and dried herbs. Soft textured, quite big in the mouth and utterly open.
A real joy to drink, and a great demonstration of just how slow these macerated Ribollas evolve. Quite possibly at its peak right now - at 15 years old!

Copper color. Definitely showing its terroir, earth/minerals evident on the front end. Fruit, but its greatly faded. Well past its peak. But still good with food.

Oxidized. Not drinkable unless you like vinegar. Perplexing because it was stored under perfect conditions
