Dinner at JB Ah Meng (JB Ah Meng, Geylang, Singapore): This was really nice. The nose was a bit reserved, with a touch of chalky mineral and some neutral white fruit accents, with some sweeter fruit just starting to peek out at the edges. The palate was really nice, with a lovely purity to its bright flavours of green apple and sweet lemons, with a grapefruit zest running into a fresh, mineral and spice finish. A really nice Meursault village, all zippy and energetic, with a nice depth to boot. This was so enjoyable in even in its youth, but should be even better with a few years under its belt too. Yummy.

Clear light gold; clean medium nose of lemon custard, candied apple caramel, ripe Fuji apple and buttered popcorn; dry; medium plus acidity; medium alcohol; medium body; medium flavour intensity; pfn with more citrus than butter; medium plus finish; very good quality; a little diluted and fruitier than we would have liked but just a baby and only village level
