Carpe Diem Cabernet 2016 is a lot of Napa Valley for your buck. The wine is vinified by the Dominus Estate team, and is made using the younger vines from the legendary Napanook vineyard.
Fruit forward with summer berries all around and soft tannins. A crowd pleaser that will charm anyone at the dinner party. This is not a complex wine, but rather a good expression of lush California fruit that pairs well with a wide range of dishes. Light oak keeps the profile vibrant. I plan on cellaring my two remaining bottles for 2-3 years to see the evolution.
Ranging between $28-$34, it's a Napa Valley bargain from a serious winemaking team. Can be found in many SF restaurants' by-the-glass programs.
Carpe Diem is importer Maisons Marques & Domaines' négociant label created as a result of its relationship with Moueix and Roederer Estate (the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay bottlings are vinified in the Anderson Valley with Roederer's fruit).
Cellar storage conditions: 8/10

The young vines of Dominus. Made off the Dominus estate.
Green machine, like a green smoothy, so kinda fun for that fact. Drinks more like old school Napa I am being told.
