Absolute gem here. Happy to have selected it to start off March!
A very cool toned violet and blackberry burst with subtle smoke and pepper on the nose. The palate follows with very pure blackberry coulis, but is not overtly fruity. Instead this is entirely balanced by the rocks and smoke, chewy but not intrusive tannin, and a crescendo of subtle flavors aromas and juicy acid.
Sad to know it’s my only bottle, but all the better that it seems to be as expressive as I could’ve hoped for. Favorite of 2024 easily.

Dark fruit, pretty decent nose which has some gravely flair. A little bolder than typical sandlands, some real cocoa vibes, like 80% dark chocolate. It's okay, I didn't love it perhaps more years in bottle adds that extra edge.

very distinctly syrah. Dark purple fruits, tapenade, really nice. Good from pop and pour. Very different from a lot of Sandlands, but given it’s still 12.4% ABV, very impressive.

Bright purple color. Very fresh smelling on the nose with vibrant blue fruit and violets. Not much in the savory department at this point. Similar flavors on the palate with perhaps just a touch of black pepper coming through. Medium+ acid, medium tannin. Very easy drinking, fruit forward syrah at this point. Tasty but not very complex and perhaps will develop with some additional bottle time?

Delicious savory excellence. Really fresh and vibrant but still showing some secondary nuance. Long life ahead.
