Very different wine from the bland sweet juice of 5 yrs ago. Turning almost viscous, the wine is becoming more like a young port in consistency. This wine has a strong black raspberry core, with plenty of jammy sweetness offset by a wild forest aromas -- reminds me of a raspberry liquor filling in a dark chocolate bar. Needless to say, it goes really well with chocolate. Not even a hint of rust in the color. About half evolved in it's long life -- the tertiary flavors are just becoming pronounced. Drinkable now, but should gain in complexity in another 5 yrs or longer.

(at Wine-Depot's Chapoutier tasting event) red-brown color that discloses a bit of the wine age, pleasant & classic aroma for this wine, ripe cherries in taste. A basic dessert wine.

This is not quite as "hot" as it was last September (2004), but still, I should've waited longer. If you happen to have some of this, don't be in a hurry to drink'em up! Toffee, caramel, chocolate and a healthy dose of blueberry preserves! Now how can that be bad??

Excellent, but a little too 'hot' at this point. Toffee, carmel, chocolate notes on a heavy frame. I think I'll wait a couple of years before opening the next one.
