  • Wildflowers and birch juice on th nose. Just a little sweeter than what I usually like, but it's still quite quaffable and refreshing, with a nice acidicity.

  • Solid weeknight Riesling. Some acidity but mostly full on the palate in the manner of lower-end ones. Still enjoyable and delicious if not super-styled. Very Good.

  • Sat, 02/09/19, $2 Tasting (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): 100% estate grown frt, planted in Devonian slate & diabase soils; "The estate’s cellars are the deepest in the Saar. They offer an unparalleled environment with near 100% humidity & a constant temperature of 48°F. The wines are fermented & matured in German oak (neutral) 1,000 liter barrels (Fuders). This cool, damp environment provides optimal conditions to produce Rieslings." Typically, ~40 gm/L R.S. & 1,800 cs made; 10.0% ABV

N: Fragrant pears, poss peaches, with undertones of SOMETHING grn?!? Some earthiness?

P: Med body; Very RNDISH entry with SWT frt balanced by an acidity which subtly affects the experience as it morphs into a LONG, pleasantly tangy/SWT finish with POSS the *barest* HINT of a very, VERY slight bitterness. For now & through '20, poss longer. Nicely done in a style that to my relatively inexperienced German palate comes across as straightforward & without pretense. My VG+; [I saw no other sources with whih to compare this vendor's $12.95.]
