Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Lighter, pale yellow color. Fairly expressive on the nose with fennel, lemon peel, pear, hints of nuts and green apple, white spice. Intoxicating and has that sense of purity with an easy going nature.
Very similar on the palate, it’s on the lighter side of medium in weight, though it does have more of a butter/cream impression than the other 17’ Jobard’s (Narvaux, Chevalieres, Genevrieres) I’ve tasted, and subsequently a bit less tension than those wines. To its credit, it shows good medium acidity, with some complexity to its fruit and accents, retaining its airy elegance, with fresh lemon and honey notes coming more in to focus with air.

While this is charming and accessible today, the components are still integrating, and I’d expect a few years of cellaring will pay some dividends. Not one for the back of the cellar, however.
From 30+ year old vines, directly adjacent to 1er Gouttes d’Or.
