  • Pop and pour. Retains nice burgundy coloring with slight bricking. Immediately upon opening this was lacking any flavors; once it hit room temp it held faint blueberry and leather on the nose with the taste of a well-aged bordeaux. Light fruit, finest of tanins, tobacco on a light-weight wine with a brief finish. Still enjoyable, but this is approaching the end of its life. Well-made wine!

  • Pop and pour from a 1.5l to begin a "Welcome the new neighbors" party. Was nervous about the condition when the cork and capsule showed some wine had seeped to the surface (but hadn't overflowed to the neck) and the cork was moist and red throughout. Wine poured a bit on the light side, but was in excellent condition. Mellow but no overpowering fruit aromas, with a tinge of tobacco. Similar flavors, soft coating mouthfeel, with a medium weight and a brief finish put this in nearly perfect balance. A pleasant surprise, and quite enjoyable. This was purchased from the winery several years after release, signed by Dom Chappellet and winemaker Phillip Titus, and stored in my walk-in. I'd buy another bottle or two for near-term (2 years) consumption if I knew the provenance.
