Right out of the bottle, it feels a little muted but if you give it some time it rewards you with subtle but intense aromas of lemon, green apple, pear, white flower, smoked wood, and minerality. On the palate, surprised by the fine texture and complexity. Truly enjoyed it.

1 hour decant in glass. Brass w/ clear edge in color. Nose of granny smith apple, kiwi & honeysuckle. On the palate: golden delicious apple, kiwi, asian pear and super subtle wood spice. Medium weight with a creamy mouthfeel. Long finish of asian pear, wood spice and salinity. Absolutely beautiful stuff. Drank it too young, but enjoyed it immensely.

Pale straw yellow. Shy’sh nose of pears and vanilla cream. Orchard fruit level acidity. Very pretty wine though concentration of good stuff might be a little more in keeping w village or bourgogne level rather than 1er. Put away a glass and a half in the bottle in the cellar for a few days. All the above but more weight and citricity noted - nudging numerical up.

This wine is elegant, has plenty of finesse, but lacks a bit in concentration, energy and drive. I do prefer the reds who are at a much higher level.

2017's in Bottle at Domaine Chandon de Briailles (Savigny-les-Beaune, France): All ripe pear aromatics. Round and glycerine, moderate oak, some soil, lower acidity. Reminded me of white Savigny. Too exotic and loose for me.
