At home with Valerie and Suzy, went off script and finished the evening with this one. Chilled, splash decanted, drank over an hour and some the following day...first tasting from Aubert 17 vintages in my cellar.
Deep brassy gold color, slightly cloudy. Nose showing lime zest, citrus, mineral (someone picked up hay?). Plate of candied lemon, apricot, baked apple, almonds. Rich through the mid palate, citrus persists with notes of parrfin and mineral. Full body, long finish (60+ seconds)
Gorgeous wine, nicely aged at this point. Depth of the flavors and and length of the wine are noteable - even by Aubert standards...:) Should drink at this level for a while but VERY worth it to open one now.

My wine. Last wine of the night and best at a blind chardonnay tasting. Showing richer with more pineapple than a bottle a year or so ago, but on a night of many good wines it nonetheless proved why Aubert is so lauded.

Decanted for 3 hours. Clear yellow gold. Yellow fruit on nose. Palate of pear, apple. Medium plus body with bracing acidity. Not my favorite Aubert, so I saved some to retaste…BUT my wife (who doesn’t like white wine) drank the rest (when I was out on a boys night) and said it was great :(

Wine gathering at RJ's; 4/4/2023-4/7/2023 (South Carolina): Expressive nose displaying ripe succulent yellow fruit, lemon curd, yellow peach, pineapple, a hint of vanilla/oak, honey, crème brulee, sesame and limestone. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of ripe yellow fruit, rich and round, bright acidity, strong mineral, and a long succulent yellow fruit driven finish with crème brulee at the end. This is a ripe style of Aubert, similar to the earlier vintages.
