80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc sourced from the Pomerol region of Bordeaux, aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels, 14% ABV, not mevushal. Appearance was a deep ruby color with heavy viscosity. Nose was high intensity and very nice , black currants, black cherry, roasted plums, chili pepper, rich violets, racy new leather, graphite, menthol, anise, black pepper, cedar, and incense. On the palate, full bodied and firm, with rich fruit, persistent, silky tannins that coat and leave the mouth dry, and moderate acidity. Well balanced with lots of structure. Black and red fruits, plum sauce, blackberry bramble, cherry, raspberry, fruit cake, red pepper flake, licorice, green notes of bay leaf and roasted jalapeño, loamy dirt, dried leaves, umami, cedar, and toffee. Long, dusty finish of fruit cake and Dutch cocoa. Still quite youthful and could easily age another 5 years before peak. Very enjoyable. 93.

Dark ruby purple color. Intense bouquet of raspberries, strawberries, dark red fruits, plum, sweet spices, fruity Earth. On the palate, sweet ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries dripping with sweet ripe flavors, dark red plums come on crushed violets, fresh Earth. A long sweet ripe fruit finish with loads of tannins and acidity which guarantee the ability to age. Delicious now but not near Peak. Drink from 2026 to 2031, possibly to 2036. 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 14% ABV. Delicious and very good QPR. Highly recommended
