Tasted double blind. This just lacked much of everything. Some ripe fruit and acid but even when revealed we were unable to convince ourselves this was good. And I’m a big Ente fan. Received 0 votes tonight. Tied with the 2011 Rougeard Breze for last/second to last.

TWITS tasting at Mike's (Mike's place): Really a lovely nose. Loads of minerals, clearly some age, just a touch of a musty note. On the palate, it's mostly excellent and incredibly complex, but there's so much heavily toasted oak that at times it's overpowering. When the oak subsides a bit, this is an intellectually beautiful wine with lovely minerals, rocks, amd some nice fruit. Oh - and lots and lots of heavily toasted oak. The underlying juice gets a mid-90's for me, but the oak knocks it back.

This a super Meursault. Incredible tension here with electric acidity and bright minerality. Very long with good complexity. Long life ahead. 93+

Consumed on the wine's 10th anniversary and found it still going strong. We'll balanced, the right color and minerality.

Dinner at Rubicon and a surreal pre-tasting (San Francisco, CA): The spicy nose moves to a bit of truffle. The palate is oily and coating with butter-brickle and some pleasing nutty notes on the medium finish. Lovely wine.
