  • Dark red with fading to the edges. Bit of plum on the nose. Still bright on the palate, cherries, bit of a sour note, cedar, tobacco. Smooth tannins, bright acidity, good balance. Finishes long with plum notes. Still alive but past prime. Drink up.

  • A very impressive bottle. Red fruits are still present and with good intensity, tertiary forest floor is light but present, oak is slightly smoky and provides a good balance to the stewed fruit. Has a few years left for sure, but this is in a great place to drink now.

Only advice with this is to decant into a narrow or tall decanter to pour off the sediment as it had both chunky as well as very fine sediment which if it mixes in, makes the wine quite unpleasant.

  • 13.2% abv. Dark garnet color. Modest amount of clear staining of tears. Red berries, pomegranate, eucalyptus, cedar, fresh raisins. Med weight in mouth, surprising acidity and some tannins; this still shows fairly lively in mouth (pnp, no decant), 45+ sec finish. Respectable, has more years left if stored well (my cork soft/broke on opening).

  • My last bottle of this beautiful and delicious wine. The cork was in perfect condition as was the other bottles I have enjoyed. This pours an incredibly dark red color, almost black. The nose is all tertiary - leather, raisins, mint, a hint of dried cherries. The palate still tastes vibrant - even for a 23 year old Napa cabernet. The fruit it still present - much more refined and linear, with great balance and depth. This is undeniably Napa - but it has aged so graciously and well. Such a treat to drink. Wish I had more of this wine - it has been a great treat to try these and drink them over the year. This is living proof of just how good Napa wines can be.

  • Second time having this wine this year. This is a totally mature and well aged Napa cabernet. The nose is all tertiary, lots of cedar, forest floor, and this may sound weird - but it definitely had a touch of oil on the nose. The palate has lots of faded fruits, but you can still taste the depth and complexity that existed in this wine. This has had a long life and still providing a very good tasting experience.
