As I pull the cork out of the bottle it’s a bit shaky, but in the end it comes out with a smooth push and a psscht revealing some pressure that is still left in the bottle. As I pour it in the glass there’s a lovely golden yellow colour with only a small stream of bubbles.. This bottle was disgorged in the late 1980s and of course showing a very mature nose with hints of dried raisins, red apples and a lovely butterscotch note. Smoothing intense red apples acidity on the palate with a nice honey sweetness on the mid before a lovely red grapefruit bittersweetness takes over on the nice and lengthy finish where there’s also a touch of sherry coming back again. This was still a very fresh bottle that has survived fifty years in a french dark cellar in an excellent way...
