10.5% abv. AP 1. Open >24 hours ago. This is similar to the bottle I opened in 2021, except the acids are more vocal, giving the experience a heightened sense of freshness. That's not as paradoxical as it may sound. Even now, it clings to latent subterranean stone sensations that mark it 1) unfinished with its sulfur, and 2) a 2018 from the Mosel system. Imagine an alkaline, resin and root compost. Delight comes from the uncommonly seamless action that follows such a foundation, all the way from determined, grim nutrient cycles, to emphatic, stipulated lattices of acidity, seashell, and botany—of aerial notoriety. Perfumed Victorian wax. Gin and tonic. Sloe. Roses. Verjus. Sun baked broken flagstone. Lime leaf. Curry. This has the kind of brilliance and seriousness that invites forcing it into the most leveraged and difficult pairing situations. Conch; asparagus; pinecone. Bring it on.

Opened because of seepage despite proper storage. The cork was soaked and there was wine under the foil, but somehow no flaws have showed.
Clear with a green tint and a pleasant nose of white flowers, apples and kerosene - perhaps because of the vintage. It has a noticeable weight on the tongue for a Mosel wine, but also a nice balance between sweetness and acidity. Green apples, lime, unripe strawberries and a chalky minerality.
This was showing a bit too much R/S for me this time. A good bit of lime/citrus layered on top, but it lacks a bit of edge. It was the lesser wine next to the Keller RR tonight. Trading on name here at this $$. There are so many other Rieslings that offer much more for less.

It s still a bit young, but it is clearly a milestone for the area and the style !
Intense nose of petrol and kerosene, combined with lime, lemon, citrus, some ripe exotic hint to it as well... greatly complex !
Despite the price, it is a valuable experience to taste Egon in its best windows...

Minute Maid lemonade, white flowers, and some slate. Lacking in complexity, intensity, and purity. For the price tag, I’d look elsewhere.
