Medium ruby. Pronounced nose of red fruit pepper and sage. On the palate high acidity, medium tannin cherries and cranberries. Medium finish. Fenser style of Pinot than most which I love. Very good.

Pomegranate and cherry, with rhubarb accents. Moderate spice and a touch of minerals on the finish. Medium acidity and nicely complementary tannins. Balanced and in a good place for drinking now. 89-90.

👀 Pale Ruby 👃Not decanted. Uncorked and corked overnight. The 2017 vintage opens up to a bouquet of strawberry, raspberry and cherry notes with fragrant wood of cedar. The attack are sour cherry. Swirling and introducing some air reveals baking spice and orange zest at mid palate. Finishing with some minerals. 👅 Juicy, light bodied, and low intensity. Fresh, bright acidity. Supple, silky tannins. Well structured. Long and elegant finish. 💭 According to the winery, following five consecutive years of drought, 2017 provided a highly welcomed reprieve with record-breaking winter rainfall that filled all our reservoirs, and helped replenish soils and aquifers alike. And it really shows in the 2017 vintage.

Not quite what this pedigree deserves but this one was tart as if over the hill actually was embarrassed and had to open something else. Very out of character for Paul Hobbs. Just a bad bottle I would buy again as I don’t believe that this bottle is the standard
