T....medium body, some power but nothing special, I'd expected better concentration for a wine this price (£82.00), alc very warm, oak obvious, lack of interesting earthy characters and complexity. It's a very good fruit-forward Pinot, but not much happening alongside that. Hmmm...
Rec RP £82.00.....worth nothing near that, maybe £40. I've had much better examples of Aroha in previous vintages.

Six top Martinborough pinots at the The Wine Bank (Martinborough, New Zealand): Small sample. Brief note. Bright ruby colour. A 'cool' pinot nose of largely red berries and cherries, fresh and dried herbs, brushwood and bramble. A mouth also showing a cooler fruit spectrum. Refreshing, precise acidity. Raspberries and blackberries - some wild - with wet underbrush and soil. Good fruit and power. The oak not overdone. With hindsight, not as characterful, or Martinborough-specific, as others of the wines here. My rating 5/6.

brief note from London tasting
N....big, rich, maybe too much oak?

New Zealand London Annual Trade Tasting (London): The wine feels more dense than the ones before, ripe fruit, powerful acidity, very fresh, needs time, 13% alc
