Bright, sweet red fruits, black fruit and spices hit you right away. A bold, powerful, youthful body (California sun can bring youthfulness to 113 year-old vines?)(It does for my old bones.) The finish ends in a more savory, very black fruited profile. Immensely pleasing, but not over the top.

Bright crimson in color. 14.8% ABV. Sublime nose of black and blue fruits, cocoa and peach. Full bodied with mouth watering acidity. Loaded with plush, dark fruits. Blackberry, blueberry, raspberry liqueur, chocolate and pepper on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Immensely appealing and certainly one of the best Dry Creek Valley Zins. Best over the next 3-5 years.

PnP. Strong note of dark chocolate on the nose with some cocoa, but not much fruit. Blackberry and blueberry fruit on the palate with some rustic dried herbs and oaky spice. Oak starts the finish, adds some smooth tannins and blackberry fruit, but the whole finish sort of fades out. It was a bit disappointing - there simply isn't a lot of punch, bold fruit, or excitement to this Zin.

Very subtle introduction of red berries and stone fruit on the tip of the tongue. Very nice level of acidity gives the fruit just the slightest hint of tartness. Some stone flavors. A medium-bodied wine that is quite satisfying.
