This was disappointing when first opened but, set aside for half an hour, some initial rather odd characteristics blew off and left a very attractive wine. Rich, red berry fruit on the nose. Rich, almost sweet, red/black fruit on the palate with spice and soft, integrated tannins. It had enough fruit, tannin, and fresh acidity to be very good with roast ham crusted with brown sugar, English mustard, and caremalised onion chutney. It is good now, in its youth, and will improve. I'll go back for more when Tesco have it on offer. Next day, it was even softer, sweeter, and more drinkable. Nice.

Not what I normally drink so treat review with caution. Also, I really have no idea how to score wines so I googled and found a method that is as follows... 50 for being a wine. Score out of 5 for colour (using wine folly colour chart) Score out of 15 for the nose. Score out of 20 for the taste. Score out of 10 for the way it all comes together (ie how it made me feel) Herewith my dodgy review... Cork was quite brittle and it disintegrated on removal. The end of the cork that was in the wine remained intact though, so could have been the cheap cork screw. Medium ruby colour. Subtle berry on the nose and a hint of earthiness. Ripe berries on a medium palate. Very pleasant, comes together nicely 50+4+10+17+8 = 89

Quite young, light to medium weight, with slightly spicy fruit; uncomplicated, but pleasant enough.
