Retail $38. Just about every time I taste a Rousanne, I wonder why I do not drink more wines from this tasty variety. I then immediately answer my own question: there is not a whole lot of it grown, particularly in this country, and most is blended with other white Rhône varieties like Marsanne and Viognier. It is also not the easiest vine to grow, so most winegrowers don't bother. Too bad. For when it is done right like this wine, the results are fantastic. Golden in the glass with tropical notes and a bit of beeswax, the palate starts off rather round, but a rush of acidity flows in on the mid-palate. Juicy and ripe, this is a pleasant diversion from the usual suspects. I am NOT a fan of the Big Ass Bottle, though. You claim to be 'sustainable" but you put this wine in a tank of a bottle? What a shame. thedrunkencyclist.com

Bold yellow color. Aromas pop with super tropical combos of pineapple, lychee, honey butter, almond, tropical flowers. Medium-bodied (only 12.9% alcohol) with moderating acidity, which really helps, and there’s a creamy, waxy texture. Flavors of yellow apples and pineapple, laced with floral potpourri, salted nuts, white tea, there’s some underlying mineral tones. Bold and tropical in flavors yet it’s nuanced and light on its feel – a nice combo to find in California Roussanne. Native yeasts, barrel fermented, all maloactic fermentation.
