Community Tasting Notes (27) Avg Score: 87.3 points

  • Day 1: Commerical tasting and a shame as this used to be a good wine. Spice, strawberry and floral notes. Simple wine and just an easy pass. A bit of a chemical taste on the finish. 80 points
Day 2: Second wine from yesterday that was terrible on day 1 and came around. Too many dump them out. While this is no Right Bank Anderson level improvement it is an improvement. More balance with cherry, spice, strawberry, floral, minerals and pepper. Longer finish and more concentrated.
Very drinkable and the price I paid a good QPR. 88 points
Day 3: Again, some improvement and 2 back-to-back bangers on the 3-day experience. Sour berries, cherry, floral, minerals and mild pepper. Very drinkable and would be a good party wine. 89 points
Recommendation: This will not achieve the mind blowing experience of the 13 of this wine but solid overall. Recommended a solid 3 hour decant.

  • Diam 10 Best wine closure ever.
Day 1: Big fan of previous vintages but this one is dull to say the least and plenty of time has passed. Blueberries, mild spice, mint, earth and floral notes. While it is very drinkable it does not even get close to the quality, but this is only day 1 so hopefully will improve. 87 points
Day 2: Nice improvement on this wine. These wines age for a long time so not surprised didn't show its best on a the pop and pour. Blueberries, coffee beans, spice, pepper, earth and floral notes. This is not a powerhouse wine and has a lot of finesse. Short to medium on the finish. 90 points
Recommendation: Decant for 3 or 4 hours or hold until 2025.

  • Agreed with KentW below who wrote in 2022: “Medium plus weight. Plum and blackberry notes. A bit sour, and strong mid-palate acidity that stays through the finish. Just a mid week drinker. Better with food but not memorable.”

I won’t be buying this wine again. For my palate, there are many many wines better at the $20-25 price point.

  • A story of bottle variation...
Our 8/22 review was less than stellar, but the bottle opened this week (let it breathe quite a bit for best results) was much better.
Very nice Argentinian Bordeaux blend, heavy on the Malbec, so fruit forward and tending towards robust. Good value and should continue to slough off the rough edges in the next year or two.

  • Has definitely settled down since the last bottle with a nice balance of fruit and acidity. Paired well with carne asada tacos. Time will tell with the other bottles in my cellar. As noted by others, so far, this vintage just does not seem to hold a candle to previous vintages that I have had.
