Despite the negative comments (and the fact that stylistically this might have been well past peak), I rather enjoyed this wine. Hugely extracted style means I wouldn't have guessed this was a pinot had I tasted it blind, but there certainly was a lot of stuffing. A little funky and atypical, but there was a fair bit going on and I found it reasonably enjoyable...

pomegranate segues to clove, spice and eucalyptus. It all suggests that the wine might deliver more than expectations would expect. Soon those original expectations proved to be too high, for while the nose gave promise and the attack gave pleasure, the short mid-palate and near negligible finish but for the heat of alcohol show the bloom is off this rose and the flower has faded far. The shadow of sediment coats the entire inside of the bottle. 14.4% alc. With pistachio crusted salmon and beurre rouge. Not Recommended.

had our turkey early and drank this bottle. Started off with a very deep purply color and taste. The grape smell was not a very famaliar one and I tried and tried to figure it out. It was the smell of prunes but not pruney. Intriguing enough to want to keep tasting. Not long on the taste but enjoyable. This is one where it was probably better to drink early.

Very promising on opening, but as the wine sat in the glass, VA reared its ugly head. Too bad.

This bottle was distinctly past its prime. It tasted old and dull. I have two bottles of the 04 that will be opened sooner than later.
