PnP and double decant before serving. Bright and fruity with some power. The nose is more open with summer fruit, blackberry and medium finishing. Quite nice to pair with meat.

Showing like the vin de garde of their lineup, the Volnay Santenots is very tightly coiled and unresolved, taking some hours to start to come together. What’s clear is there’s an abundance of ripe purple fruit, but with all the structure it comes across like a race horse crying out for running room. There’s good medium to medium plus acidic freshness and defintely some tightly wound oak to resolve. The tannic structure asserts itself well on the back, lending plus length and complexity through its finish. Patience is required however, and while not a wine to open today, I like the potential.

Decent but was expecting more…
However drank against a French cornas and a muga grand Eneo so maybe it was just overwhelmed by comparison
