Loved this today, lots of citrus, orange blossom , some apple and minerals on the nose, tense and generous palate with great locus, medium high acidity and a long finish

Consumed over 3 hours: Aged chardonnay notes, orchard fruit, ripe citrus, green apple. Medium acid, limestone, white flowers and gorgeous citrus juice. With time hazelnut and toast emerge. Atypical Chablis, almost jura in style but with a nice chalky limestone backbone.

2017 (mostly) Cote de Beaune Premier Crus vol 2 (Adam's, Logan Square, Chicago IL): Nose: The nose was beautifully aromatic and balanced, filled with pears, flint, custard, red apples, some white fruits, saline, peaches, acacia flowers, with a racy mineral undertone. There is excellent depth with a more precise take to the nose than the other wines on hand.
Taste: The feel is medium bodied with racy, electric acidity. The acidity just shreds on the palate in mouthwatering ways along with pears, red apples, acacia flowers, custard, peaches, flint, and mineral tones.
Overall: This was a great start to the afternoon. The acidity is really pronounced at this time with the nose and palate showing a freshness and linear quality. There is excellent depth and balance with the tones showing a lot of youthful exuberance. This is a lot of fun now, but it likely needs at least 3 years to settle down and 5+ to really show itself.

13% ABV. PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“No” day): Deep golden to the eyes.
Deep golden citrus fruits like grapefruits and just the perfect balance of spices and oxidative notes that is extremely well integrated.
Round and complete on palate with lots of yellow and almost tropical fruits. Superbly long finish.
94-95 points.

Liger-Belair (Burgundy and Willamette) Lunch (RPM Steak - Chicago IL): Lots of lemon and green apple on nose and palate with classic crunchy oystershell textures and a long finish for 1er Cru. Probably better in another year or two, but very charming now.
