  great classic Barbaresco. aging quite well and perhaps a bit shutdown at this point. classic notes of cherry and rose with an impressive depth of fruit. not a long ager IMHO. if you have a case, break out the first bottle as this wine in now at the beginning of its drinking window. the phenolic ripeness of the fruit just blows me away with this wine in the 2016 vintage. it's what makes the 2016 vintage perhaps the best of all time. sorry '71 fans.

  Firing on all cylinders - an explosive mix of tar, cola, roses, red fruit, turned earth. Produttori’s entry-level barbaresco remains one of the world’s best bargain fine wines, and this is an outstanding vintage. This was the first of 12 - looking forward to seeing how it develops over time.
