I purchased these wines hoping I'd get a beast. Deep, Dark, Powerful, and heavy. It delivered. Gave it about 30 minutes and enjoyed over 4 hours. It's a contemplative wine to be enjoyed for a full evening. Fruit forward, some earthy/oaky notes but all elegant.

2017 Fairchild Wines: Up until this vintage, this wine was Las Piedras fruit. It is now a blend of valley floor and Pritchard Hill. To go from an iconic vineyard source like LPV into a blend at this price point is a tough move. That said, this and the Stones 3 were easily the best wines of the tasting, so maybe Larry is onto something.
Blackcurrant, cassis fruit, spice box, iron ore and violets on a great nose. Medium to Full Bodied and fairly rich, this kept opening up in the glass showing more and more flavor and concentration. It's a complex wine, with many different savory and red earth flavors adding with pure blue fruit to create a compelling overall profile. Has nice acidity and freshness and a long finish.
