  • Very very oxidized. Win some and lose some, I guess.

  • I was also impressed like qwerty2. Wine color had shifted from golden to more of a golden brown. If I had not read the previous tasting notes, I would have been very wary. On both nose and taste, there was something like a rubber note. Very slight, and faded into background. This was a very enjoyable wine.

  • I'm really quite impressed that a bottle of white wine, from 2005, is still very good. The color long ago progressed from white, and is actually more golden than anything. Nothing wrong with that, since yellow gold is my favorite. I don't like a lot of white wines, but Viognier is an exception, and this is still very worthy. Good flavor, and and lovely aroma.

12/17/2017: After leaving it a couple of days, I was even more amazed. This is a twelve year old bottle of white wine, and it can easily hold its own against its younger brothers. I will regret that this will be my only encounter. I'm fairly sure that El Jefe doesn't have a large stock of these.

  • When I first PnP'd this straight from the fridge, I thought it was awful. After giving it some time to warm up to almost room temp, it opened up, and was actually quite enjoyable. Lots of subtle butterscotch type flavors, nice mouth feel, and almost more spirit like then wine like, and much different then a youthful Viognier for sure.

  • Past its prime. Still drinkable and enjoyable, but would have been great about a year earlier. A pity to get it a wee bit late.
