My first time with this particular cuvee. Drank over a two night period. I've had some very tasty wines from this producer but this seemed one dimensional and a bit over extracted. Even though I knew what I was drinking, I struggled to find much nuance or sense of place.

Mostly Grenache this is an unusual CDR but very serious in nature - medium, opaque ruby colour in the glass. Spiced plum, violet, blackcurrant, smoke, dark cherry and earthy notes all emerge on the very typical nose. There's a beautiful elegance and purity to the palate that's loaded with sweet fruits, garrigue, dark chocolate and a touch of liquorice through the long finish. Soundly built the tannins are mostly resolved with a gentle, lingering grip. Tasted blind I would have this nailed on as a Chateauneuf du Pape. Drinking now but will coast for another 7+ years.

Red/black raspberry fruit and a black undercore or fruit and tar. Developed a bit after open for an hour. Direct short with little complexity. Drink now for maximum enjoyment, imo.

Dark red/purple core with some fading toward the rim. Smells of black fruits - plum, blackberry, as well as some black olive More of the same on the palate with the addition of garrigue. Don’t believe there is any oak on this. Very smooth and polished, tannins are very rounded. Pretty good length and a bit of spice. begins to fade noticably over time in the glass.
