2023 Greek Adventure; 9/11/2023-9/22/2023 (Crete, Milos, Athens): Popped and poured, no formal notes. The “Cuvee Monsignori” is made with fruits from some of the estates oldest vines; many well over 200 years old and (obviously) ungrafted. Beautifully layered tropical fruits, lime, wax, and minerals. While this was hugely complex, the biggest takeaway was the incredible texture and finish of this wine. It was rich, leesy and saline. A stunning example of Assyrtiko and perfect pairing with whole red snapper.

Dine out (Almyriki restaurant): The wine shows bright character, utterly youthful, mineral, a touch smoky, citrus, lime and lemon. In the palate, the wine shows again highly extrovert character, very high – almost painful - acidity, mineral, citrus, green apple and pear, smoky, alcohol warmth, long finish. Fascinating but needs years to settle down

That is first and it will certainly be done again...
Tasted the wines at fairs before, but never in a proper settled tasting etc..
Nose of Med+ Intensity, with citrus, lemon peel, hints of hazelnut, sea smoke, slate, some herbs and some really flinty character coupled with ham fat
Palate is vibrant, zesty, with a zingy acidity asking for food and sea food immediately, long, fresh, intense citrus and ripe lemon character in and aftertaste !
Med+ Alcohol, Med+ Intensity aromas, Pronounced length, High acidity !
Fantastic wine !

Syrlig, reduktiv, lukket. Intensiteten er høy og vinen har masser av potensialet, men trenger tid. Jeg vil åpne neste flaske om 5-10 år.

VERY FAINT AROMA, BUT VERY GOOD TYPICAL ASSYRTIKO OF SANTORINI TASTE!
