This bubbly was consumed at The Bubble Lounge. It was popped and poured a golden, amber bronze color. Upon hitting the glass, there were quite a bit of bubbles leaping forth, thus creating a rather discernable head. On the nose, the wine exhibits a lot of honey, nuts, citrus, and tropical fruits. I would guess this juice is mostly chardonnay dominated. On the palate, the mousse was very fine (after about an hour) with a thick, unctuous structure. There were notes of apples, citrus, crème brûlée, butterscotch, caramel and mint. The finish is rather short but it is a very well balanced wine. This wine displays effortless finesse from Charles Gardet. Great stuff.

My favorite of the three Gardet champagnes tasted; a lot of freshness, with a nice bit of nuttiness. Some funky slatey earth here that reminds me of Burgundy seems to be part of the house style. Not scored at the time, but around 90, perhaps a shade higher.

CIVC Champagne Tasting (Sydney, Australia): More floral notes here with some red berries and slate. Crisp palate, great acid across the length.
