  • In a word, "Delicious." dark garnet in color. the nose is somewhat muted but classic: rose and cherries. medium bodied with tannins that are surprisingly very approachable at this young age. i get that beautiful 2016 cherry fruit, some mint and a hint of earth. impeccably balanced and still quite primary. fabulous depth of fruit leads to a long finish. give it at least an hour of breathing before you attempt this bottle. an incredible bottle of wine that is drinking great today and will only get better. i think i like the Roncaglie better than the Barolo Dardi le Rose.....time will tell.........this is a classic in every way. what an effort. could easily up-rate this in the future. it's the stuff that dreams are made of........

  • A: med garnet
N: rose, strawberry, raspberry, cinnamon, mushroom, earl grey tea, rust/blood, ripe red cherry, baking spice
P: dry, med body, 14%ABV, high fresh acidity, high powerful but smooth and well integrated tannins, sandy
C: outstanding wine = balanced ripe fruit and smooth, fresh acidity/tannins, pronounced intensity, med (+) concentration, pronounced complexity, long finish on rose, tea and ripe red fruit. Vibrant, powerful but elegant. Fantastic wine that is at the beginning of drinking window (with some air). Drink now or hold for 20 plus years.

  • In to a decanter and consumed over a couple of hours. Slightly austere tannins, fruit plays second fiddle. Nice wine, probably best left alone for a couple of years. Something like 92-94

  • I should have read my own note on this and waited a few more years. Nevertheless, this is full of energy, painfully young but hinting at its potential already. Notes of strawberries, crushed flowers, also some tar, some animalic notes, mint. It's medium+ bodied, with pretty high tannin and also pretty high acidity. Good length. A great Barbaresco from this excellent producer that just needs more time (next time read your own TN..... ). (93+)

  • Very young and tannic. A bit of a herbal, rustic, animal hair note with good depth and a long finish. Room for improvement. Hold.
