This is really exceptional, and only $24. Straw with a slightly greenish hue. On the nose, high-toned yellow fruits, greengage plum, citrus. Fantastic satiny mouthfeel, touch of bitter almond up front, then tart richly flavored fruit fading to a long mineral finish. Reminds me of Huet Sous le Puit or Haut Lieu, but not at all sweet, whereas Huet has drifted towards a sweeter style. Highly recommended!

Follow on from their excellent CF Rosé and the top red Pierre de Tuf to discover this 100% Chenin Blanc (CB). Like the other wines it comes from chalky subsoil topped by some limestone. Colour: light gold, bright, clear. Nose: full, fresh, clearly CB peardrop notes, ripe, Taste: light body, taut, hot (13.5% ABV), good CB peardrop notes, marked acidity, very dry, almost chalky flavours, med finish, v dry, chalky, moderate CB notes. Lacks roundness to balance the dry acidity. Fruit a bit meagre. Definitely needs food to balance the austere nature of the wine. Nevertheless an interesting dry interpretation of CB, similar to Chablis cf. to Puligny, here Chinon to Vouvray.

Bought a few bottles at the local store in Chinon and was very pleased with this wine for only 12 Euros.
