Wow. How different from anything I have had before. Now I know what people mean when they describe a wine as “barnyard” in a good way. It took about 45 minutes after opening the bottle and then it really started to sing. It was delicious for the next few hours. Pumped some argon into the remaining wine in the bottle in hopes that it would be good the next day but alas it was just a wonderful one-night wine.

There's a green herbal/stalky component here that's immediately noticeable, and much more prominent than in any other bottle of this I've had. It's a touch distracting, but beneath the green there's still very pure, elegant red fruit, earth and a touch of that Truchot savoury funk, and it has that expected Truchot palate presence - incredibly light and delicate, almost airy, with just incredible balance and elegance.

Thrilling as ever. Pale, delicate, incredibly fragrant and not showing even a hint of green. There's that usual Truchot perfume of fruit, earth, florality and so much else, an ethereal palate presence with a beautiful lightness of touch and bright acids keeping it very lively, and it's showing stunningly well right now.

What a lovely stink. There's a delicious, faint must, with wild flowers, baryard, and a quality that would suggest age far beyond 2004.
And the palate - garrigue, forest floor, good red fruit and acid in perfect balance.
This is unique, lovely and rustic.
