Nice, if on the crisp side—with the angular acidity giving this a rather rustic mouthfeel on the palate. Some tannins poke through on the finish and add some austerity. Needs some time to soften.

Big, tannic, dark black and red berry fruit, a bit of nail polish on the finish. I wouldn’t pick this as a Pinot let alone Burgundy. Loads of respect for Caroline but I feel Chassagne Montrachet should leave all its available land for the Chardonnay. It’s a really good wine and has all the signs of something that will age well for years, but it’s quite anonymous and will take many years to be delicious once those tannins settle.
